Summer Fitness Guide: Smart Ways to Stay Active and Fit During the Hot Months

1. Work Out Early or Late

Experiencing the heat of the sun in the middle of the day? It will actually tire you out much quicker than you might think. So, make sure you are exercising in the morning or in the evening after the sun has set, most of all because the air is fresher and cooler and you can really breathe there. With somebody by your side, things are not only easier but also more enjoyable.

5. Dress for the Heat

Firstly, opt for wearing light and breathable garments that are made of materials that won’t cause you to sweat. Moreover, lighter colors are also beneficial in this respect-they reflect the sun’s rays back to their origin so that you don’t feel like you are melting.

6. Set Goals That Make Sense

By setting unreal summer fitness goals, do not fool yourself into thinking that you will go through with them. It is always a good idea to change your routine when the weather is not so favorable. Moreover, you can use the time that you would spend running outdoors for indoor cycling, or simply, just to keep things interesting, you may register for something new. Keep a record of your wins and celebrate them on the go.

7. Listen to Your Body

In case that you are experiencing dizziness, feeling that your head is light or generally that you lack energy, then you should immediately stop and rest in a cooler place. Especially during hot days, rest is extremely important to stay fit and active.
